Taxi to Dulles, flight to LAX.  One huge checked bag each, one carry-on suitcase each, one "small personal item" (super-stuffed backpack - though would fit under seat) each.  Had to take a lot of stuff, since we needed clothes, shoes, outerwear, etc. for a two week trip through weather varying from 37o F to 107o F, coveralls, tarps, flashlights, gloves, etc. to inspect and work on bus, and some livability items we'd bought for whatever RV we ended up with, such sheets, quilts, window coverings, etc.

Expected LAX at 4:45 on a Friday to be an impassible frenzy of humanity...though we stayed within the little United area between our arrival and departure gates, and it was not crowded at all - quiet and almost sleepy with the afternoon sun burning into the waiting area.

Arrived at Palm Springs airport (PSP) about an hour late. Picked up luggage, rented a car, drove just about to seller's compound, then stopped at Goody's Cafe - a highly rated local diner.  We love high-quality-food dives and diners; this one lived up to the praise given by the wall of plaques, awards and magazine articles papering the wall by the kitchen.

Gathering all the bags at PSP.

Finally made it to seller's place around 9:00 local.  Bus looked as impressive (in the dark) as it had in the photos.  Seller gave us a quick outside tour - pointing out the turn signal and windshield wiper work he had just finished (I asked him to do this because of Virginia's nightmarish vehicle inspection rules - no relief for model year or vehicle type) - then a quick inside tour and instruction for working the basic systems.  Lone made the beds with the sheets and quilts we brought, and we both collapsed into bed.

Looks as good in real life!

The back too!
