Did get up early, did speedily eat breakfast, and did make good time getting ready to get underway. Stopped for a little diesel fuel, and stopped at a truck stop for a few minutes to mail some post cards.
Since we were unable to do the kind of pre-purchase and pre-trip checks we wanted to get in CA, we had been thinking of stopping at a place called Jefferson Truck Trailer and Bus - one of the few garages in the country that specializes in major work on the PD4106 buses. We called them as we approached OKC and they told us to go ahead and bring in the bus.
When we arrived, they told us they couldn't look at it until the morning. We agreed to come back after lunch Thursday, after they had the morning to look at it. So we grabbed our suitcases, and caught a taxi to a hotel for a break, to clean up and to do some laundry.
